WWE wanted Undertaker to be Kurt Angle's last-ever opponent at WrestleMania

A FRESH report claims WWE intended to have The Undertaker as Kurt Angle’s opponent in the Olympic hero’s retirement match at WrestleMania 35.

The former world champion announced on Monday Night Raw he will appear for the final time inside the ring at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on April 7.

The man who faces Angle has yet to be confirmed, with speculation mounting it could be John Cena.

But Ringside News now claim Vince McMahon wanted to book a bout between the DeadMan and the Hall of Famer.

However, it is believed Taker has no interest in this kind of match, casting doubt on his WrestleMania status.

The icon is now currently scheduled to compete at the Showcase of the Immortals and is scheduled for a stunning non-WWE appearance.

The Phenom, real name Mark Callaway, will be at the Starrcast II wrestling convention on May 25 – one day before rival promotion AEW show Double Or Nothing in the same city of Las Vegas.

That followed on from the 53-year-old officially deleting references to WWE for his social media accounts.

The in-ring career of Undertaker still remains unclear with his last-appearance coming in November at Crown Jewel.

He and Angle embarked in a number of spectacular matches during the early 2000s but it looks incredibly unlikely that the two will go toe-to-toe one final time with the event just three weeks away.
