Adam Woodyatt reveals which EastEnders actor broke the cafe's till

EastEnders star Adam Woodyatt made quite a series of revelations during Secrets From The Square — one being the identity of the fellow actor that broke the cafe’s till.

Adam — who plays Ian Beale — took Stacey Dooley on a tour of the Bridge Street cafe during the second episode of the EastEnders spin-off.

While there, he revealed that the till no longer works, as one of the soap’s biggest actors had broken it while filming a scene.

The actor in question is…

Doof Doof!

We kid, it was Steve McFadden, who portrays Phil Mitchell in the long-running serial drama.

He said: ‘[It doesn’t work] very well. There’s a reason why it doesn’t work very well. Mr. McFadden!

Basically, there’s a scene where Steve had to come in here and be on that side of the counter, and sort of grab the money out. Because he had to quickly do something and then go running off.’

Lifting the till up to show Stacey — and the viewers — what he was talking about, Adam continued: ‘Steve was having an issue with these bits, since he was doing it from that side.

‘So, he couldn’t get the money out. Steve ripped them out! Literally, just went!’

‘And we’ve still got the same dodgy till.’

A revelation worthy of its own Doof Doof, we reckon!

EastEnders re-airs the unmissable Sharongate episode on Tuesday 30 June at 7:30pm on BBC One. Secrets From The Square continues next Monday 6 July at 8pm.
