HOLLYWOOD superstar Angelina Jolie was blown away by British teens working to make the world a better place.
The Oscar winner, 46, appeared on BBC's The One Show to chat to "extraordinary" teenage activists who have taught her a lot.
Two of the teens she chatted to – Emily and Christina – feature in a book filled with resources for young people to learn about their rights and how to speak out on injustice.
Spearheaded by Angelina and Amnesty International, the book Know Your Rights and Claim Them, includes the work of Emily, a transgender teen who campaigns to raise awareness of LGBTIQA+ communities.
"There are so many extraordinary young people around the world, they need to know about each other, they need to know about their rights and they need to know how to call on us, what to demand from us and how best to do it, to get the strongest results," Angelina said of the book.
Emily had the chance to speak to Angelina during the show alongside Christina who works to provide healthy meals to young people and campaigns for changes to junk food advertising.
The teen told Angelina: "As you may or may not know, I am transgender, I've been working on collecting LGBTQ+ books for schools and charities."
Emily has campaigned for LGBTIQA+ rights for the past four years because she experienced first hand how isolating it can be.
"Four years ago when I started to transition, I thought I was the only person like me," the teen said earlier in the package.
She runs a LGBTIQA+ club at her school and helps other young people around the country by sending out LGBTIQA+ themed books to school libraries.
Hearing of Emily's work, Angelina explained it was a teachable moment for her and should would immediately make sure the schools she's involved with had sufficient LGBTIQA+ resources and books.
"Emily, you've taught me something. There's a few schools I work on internationally and I honestly haven't really checked the libraries specifically for representation," the actress said.
"And I'm going to do that as soon as we get off this call."
Angelina then added: "Christina and Emily let's keep in touch."
The actress will next be seen in the Marvel superhero film, Eternals.
She plays, Thena, a warrior who can create any weapon out of cosmic energy.
Angelina stars alongside Richard Madden, Gemma Chan, Salma Hayek and Kit Harington in the upcoming Marvel film.
It centres around a race of immortal beings who lived on Earth for thousands of years and shaped its history and civilisations.
After the events of Avengers: Endgame and Thanos' 'snap', The Eternals are called into action.
Eternals will be released in cinemas on November 5 in the UK.
