Ant and Dec share throwback to SMTV and CD:UK with Cat Deeley on 20th anniversary

There’s nothing more nostalgic as a 90s kid than remembering getting up early on a Saturday morning to catch SMTV Live and CD:UK back-to-back.

While as adults we now are grateful for a lie-in on a weekend, we clearly knew how to live as kids with a healthy early morning dose of silly antics, Pokémon and Chums.

Well, amazingly it’s been 20 years since the two shows first aired, and Ant & Dec are here to remind us and make us all feel really old. Thanks guys.

20 years ago today, on August 29th 1998, #smtvlive and #cduk appeared on our tellyboxes for the first time. We haven’t changed a bit eh @catdeeley!? D 📺 #tv #nostalgia #1990s #wonkeydonkey #chums

The duo shared a throwback picture of themselves with Cat Deeley on Instagram, late-90s looks and all.

“20 years ago today, on August 29th 1998, #smtvlive and #cdukappeared on our tellyboxes for the first time. We haven’t changed a bit eh @catdeeley!? D #tv #nostalgia #1990s#wonkeydonkey #chums,” they wrote.

Last year it emerged that an SMTV reunion was on the cards, though it was revealed earlier this year that it was postponed.

However, Cat did dish to Digital Spy last year what it will comprise of when it returns, teasing: “I think that the big elements of the show will be there, like Chums, Wonkey Donkey, Cat the Dog – all of those will be on there.

“My dream would be for everyone to sit in their pyjamas until lunchtime, having pyjama parties – SM:TV pyjama parties, with mimosas and bloody Marys, and relive our youth.”

Yes, count us in!
