Avengers: Infinity War directors tease the "cost" of using the Infinity Stones

Note: This article contains spoilers for a film that everyone has seen.

While Avengers: Infinity War was a very, very satisfying movie, it did leave us with a lot of questions (which is the point, it is a part 1 despite that bit being dropped from the title).

Since its release, the actors, writers and directors have been answering some of fans’ most burning questions, without giving away the entire plot of the as-yet-untitled Avengers 4.

During a ‘Vudu watching party’ that happened on Twitter, one fan asked the Russos something that we’ve been thinking about a lot.

After Thanos does his fingersnap thing, he appears on a mountain and contemplates the enormity of what he has done.

The damage dealt to his chest by Thor and his new Stormbreaker weapon has been healed, but his arm is scarred and damaged, as is the Gauntlet itself.

The question, can Thanos use the Infinity Stones to heal his arm and even repair the Gauntlet?

The Russos’ answer was: “Perhaps, but there is a cost to using the power of the Stones.”

This answer leaves us with even more questions: will Thanos continue to use the stones and/or the Gauntlet? What is the cost? Will our heroes use them, and will that be how characters will be written out?

God, we can’t wait for next year.

Avengers 4 will arrive in the UK on April 26, 2019 and in the US on May 3, 2019. Meanwhile, Ant-Man and The Wasp is out now in the UK and US. Book tickets here.
