AN EastEnders legend looks unrecognisable as he returns after 33 years.

Fans of the long-running show have been left stunned as Duncan Boyd returned to Walford.



During Tuesday's episode viewers watched as Zack revealed his HIV diagnoses to The Vic.

Sharon Watts jumped to her brother's defence following the revelation.

However, she was left stunned when an old friend walked in the door.

Duncan, who is played by David Gillespie, appeared on the BBC One soap 33 years ago.

He was the curate of the local church and eventually became involved with Sharon (Letitia Dean).

He also formed friendships with the likes of Lofty Holloway (Tom Watt) and devout Christian, Dot Cotton (June Brown).

He left Albert Square in 1989 after being offered a new job at a parish in Wiltshire.

However, his return is set to cause trouble between Sharon and her new flame, Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) as he unknowingly officiates baby Albie's christening.

Following his return, fans have been left stunned by Duncan's appearance and took to social media to comment.

One said: “I’m so old I remember him Duncan the Vicar. He loosk totally different!"

A second commented: "Bl**dy hell its Duncan he's changed a bit..lol."

"Duncan Boyd, back like a bad penny! Sharon Watts treated him bad didn’t she. And the years ain’t been kind," said a third.

While a fourth remarked: "Duncan looks so different!"

In scenes to come Duncan will be shocked to learn Sharon is the mother of the little boy and their past romantic history will come to light.
