Former Corrie star Kym and BBC regular Gethin will front Morning Live next month.
Bosses hope to bring some One Show magic with “a lively and entertaining mix of topical content and expert advice”.
Kym, 44, quit Coronation Street last year after 13 years playing Weatherfield’s Michelle Connor.
The former singer, who rose to fame on TV reality show Popstars with the band Hear’Say, said: “I’ve always enjoyed morning TV, it’s a great way to start the day, with a cuppa in hand of course.
“I love nothing more than a good catch up, although this will be on a slightly different scale.”
Gethin, 42, said: “A presenting role on a morning show like this is a bit of a dream for me. What I’m most excited about is the opportunity to delve in to some of the biggest issues at the heart of our everyday lives right now.”
The 45-minute show created by the team behind the One Show will air from 9.15am, pitching it directly against Lorraine.
The series is commissioned to run for 40 episodes – taking viewers up to Christmas. It could be extended into 2021 if it wins over viewers.
