Bradley Walsh has undoubtedly given The Chase some serious moments of comedy gold throughout the years.

And Chaser Mark Labbett – aka The Beast – has a very high opinion of the presenter and former Coronation Street star.

Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy, he said of Bradley: “He’s wonderful because he’s exactly the same when the cameras are rolling as when they stop, which isn’t the same for everyone in television.

“He’s a professional and I have learnt so much from him. I know I’m biased but he is the best game show host in the world.”

Mark admitted that he couldn’t wait to watch Bradley on Doctor Who when the show finally airs, Discussing what Bradley will bring to the BBC show, Mark said: “Just what a wonderful actor he is.”

The 52-year-old also revealed the funniest moment that has happened on the ITV quiz show, referring to the moment Bradley cracked up over the name of German skier Fanny Chmelar.

“I was there when they recorded it and I wish we could show the whole thing,” he said.

“It took about 15 minutes to actually get the question out, Bradley had to keep restarting, then he’d burst out laughing and have to start again. When you have all the hardened camera men falling about laughing, you know you have comedy gold.”

The Beast also revealed his relationship with the other Chasers – especially The Governess herself, Anne Hegerty.

“We get on very well. The highest compliment I can pay Anne is that Anne is the godmother to my son. That’s how highly I respect her,” he said.

Mark admitted they all have a competitive nature, and often take part in quizzes together.

“We all want to be the number one Chaser – none of us want to be the one who is known as being the soft touch,” he said.

Mark is currently an ambassador for new quiz app FleetWit, where players are pitted against each other for cash prizes. The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
