The 37-year-old singer flashed a hint of leg and cleavage in the picture for Cosmopolitan magazine, using a large white coat to maintain her modesty.
With her arm in the air while her other hand holds the coat shut, Christina looked beautiful with natural makeup and her blonde hair in messy waves around her shoulders.
In the accompanying interview, the star spoke about her decision to go totally natural on the cover of her new album, Liberation.
She said: "I still love getting glammed up, but I want to show imperfections on this go-round.
"It’s scary, but I’m up for the challenge. You can’t tell me something I haven’t already heard about myself anyway.”
In fact, Christina also recalls how hurt she was by comments she received during her 'rivalry' with fellow pop princess Britney Spears in the early noughties.
When she released her 2002 album, Stripped, Christina revealed a sexy new makeover, complete with chaps, bikini top and plenty of hair extensions.
But she told Cosmo: "It’s hard to hear yourself being called names.
"I remember being hurt by these commercials on MTV, pitting Britney as the good girl and me as the bad girl.
"It’s like, if I’m going to be demure and innocent, that’s okay. But if I’m going to just be myself, I’m trouble.”
Now, the mother-of-two doesn't pay as much attention to what people say about her appearance, and is proud of what she has accomplished.
She said: "“I love the female body, and I think it’s something to be proud of, not something that men should dictate ownership of.
"Dirrty was extremely controversial at the time, but it would be nothing now.
"I hope I paved the way and helped set the ground rules that women can be any version of themselves they wanna be…and proud of it.”
