DETECTIVE fans of Coronation Street are convinced they have worked out the identity of Hope’s secret pal.
Devious Hope (Isabella Flanagan) has been messaging a mysterious identity known only as ‘Mad Dog’ through an online gaming service – and eagle-eyed fans are convinced they have unveiled the identity of the hidden character.
Hope was recently quizzed by her classmate Sam Blakeman about Mad Dog where Hope implied that things were ‘over’ between the two without giving much else away.
However this hasnt stopped fans from speculating as to who the secret person was messaging the young troublemaker and it has prompted some horrifying theories.
Fans of the ITV soap are convinced Hope’s father, the evil serial killer John Stape, has returned from the dead and has been chatting to his daughter online.
One assured fan wrote on Twitter:"#Corrie Hope’s on about Mad Dog again… her dad’s deffo still alive!"

John notoriously kidnapped Rosie Webster (Helen Flanagan) and killed Colin Fishwick, Joy Fishwick and Charlotte Hoyle – whom he famously struck with a hammer during the high octane 50th anniversary special episodes in 2010.
He was last seen on-screen in 2011 where he died in hospital but this hasn't stopped Corrie fans from speculating that it was all a hoax.
One fan wrote on Facebook: "Yes [Mad Dog is] John Stape!"
Despite the thoughts, some other more realistic names have been thrown in the mix including Fiz’s ex Phill Whittaker and her estranged half-sister Jade Rowan.

One fan said: "I thought it was Phill, then his mum or even Phill’s ex. My last thought was Hope’s sister Jade."
A second speculated: "#Corrie newspaper reports Twitter followers have worked out who Mad Dog is believing it's Phill, personally more likely to be her sister Jade Rowan."
While Phill’s name cropped up again as a third said: "Hmmmmm who is Mad Dog? Could it be Phill?"
A fourth agreed: "Who is this mad dog on Hope's iPad, Phill? Trying to get revenge maybe?"
Hope has been continuing to cause chaos on the cobbles this year after pulling a series of seriously dangerous stunts.
