Coronation Street‘s Jennie McAlpine will soon be taking a break from the drama of the cobbles to give birth to her second child.
And the actress has told OK! that she “can’t wait” to welcome her baby into the world – hopefully in a far calmer way than her character Fiz gave birth to daughter Hope back in the great tram crash of 2010.
Jennie revealed that she’s really enjoying being pregnant and she’s looking forward to introducing her new baby to her 3-year-old son Albert.
“I honestly love being pregnant. I love the planning that’s involved and guessing what the baby is going to be like,” she said.
“This time around I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about how the baby will fit into our lives and how Albert will feel about it.”
Jennie added that “being a mum is the best thing in the world”, saying that she wishes she had more time to be with her children as well as work full-time.
The actress, who married her long-term partner Chris Farr last year, revealed that it was easier to tell her Corrie bosses about her pregnancy this time around – because her last pregnancy came at the same time as several of her co-stars’ announcements.
“Alan Halsall (Tyrone Dobbs) was really happy for me,” she said. “He’s my partner in crime so he was the first one I told.
“When I was pregnant the first time around I told the bosses within days of Cath Tyldesley (Eva Price) and Paula Lane (Kylie Platt) also telling the bosses they were pregnant. This time around it’s just me, so they weren’t as worried about finding ways to write me out!”
