Coronation Street‘s Gemma Winter faces a massive dilemma next week when Henry Newton tries to involve her in his shocking scam.
We’ve recently revealed how Henry (George Banks) will stage an accident in the Rovers Return cellar in a desperate bid to sue Johnny and Jenny Connor for compensation.
Although Henry feels guilty about conning the couple, he urgently needs to come up with £20,000 to settle his debts over his cancelled wedding to Cressida.
Dangerous thugs who are working for Cressida’s family start threatening Henry with violence this week – and it’s clear that they mean business.
Next week, Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) realises that Henry could be up to no good when Rita Tanner reveals that she caught him anxiously searching through her flat shortly before his mysterious “accident” in the cellar.
Feeling cornered, Henry eventually tells Gemma about his attempts to target the Connors and begs her to go along with it.
Henry promises their troubles will be over if Gemma lets this one go, but knowing how close Jenny is to Rita, can Gemma really betray her like this?
“After Rita tells her that she caught Henry searching the flat, Gemma begins to doubt his motives,” a spoiler post on Coronation Street‘s official website read.
“Henry explains he’s being hounded to pay for his aborted wedding. Proclaiming his love for her, Henry begs Gemma to go ahead with his plan so they can enjoy their life together, free of his past. Will Gemma agree?”
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
