In recent weeks, Coronation Street fans have been patiently waiting to see whether Corey Brent (played by Maximus Evans) gets his comeuppance over Seb Franklin’s (Harry Visinoni) murder. Seb’s mum, Abi Franklin (Sally Carman) was left devastated when Corey walked free from court, and ever since the villain has been taunting the grieving mum. Corey ended up framing Kelly Neelan (Millie Gibson) for a crime he committed, and Abi is determined to make sure he pays for what he has done.

In upcoming scenes, Abi and Corey end up in a shoot-out after the grieving mum pulls out a gun on the villain.

However, Roy Cropper (David Neilson), who witnesses the incident as it unfolds, gets caught in the crossfire.

Does Abi end up shooting Roy by mistake in her attempt to kill Corey?

The drama begins when Abi watches an Instagram video of Corey packing his suitcase for Germany.

As rage comes over the mum, Abi packs a gun into her bag as she plans her revenge against Corey.

Seb’s girlfriend and Roy’s niece Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) discovers what Abi is planning and tries to stop her.

Although, when Abi arrives at Seb’s house, she is stunned to find the police already there.

The mum goes in search of Corey but with everyone wearing Halloween masks, it proves tricky for her to identify him.

When she does eventually track him down, Abi pulls out the gun and confronts the killer.

Seb goads Abi into pulling the trigger, but as he does, the ground gives way beneath them.

The duo finds themselves trapped in a Victorian sewer, although they are both unaware that the gun lies between them on the ground.

Trapped in the sewer and with the water rising around them Abi and Corey have a face-off but who has the gun?

Roy has also witnessed the entire ordeal as he peers down into the sinkhole.

Will Roy be able to save the day, or will his life be put at risk when Abi scrambles to get the gun before Corey?

Could Roy end up getting shot by mistake and if so, will the café owner survive?

In a recent interview with Express.co.uk and other press, Abi actress Sally Carman opened up about her upcoming storyline as she hinted the grieving mother would soon seek revenge.

The actress teased: “There’s no way we can leave it at that. You know she can’t just let that go because the injustice is too much.

“She has a cut-off point and it’s been not only reached but, you know, crossed.”.

“It’s like she’s been driven by a force that she can’t stop and it’s slightly out of her hands as well because she just has to do what she’s going to do,” the soap star added.

Corrie fans have also taken to social media to share their thoughts on the Corey and Abi storyline.

Andrew penned: “One thing for sure it won’t be as simple as her shooting Corey!”

Brenda wrote: “My prediction is that Corey is going to get bumped off & it’ll be a ‘who killed JR’ scenario with Nina, Asha & Abi.” (sic)

While Simon tweeted: “Oh god Abi! Shooting Corey isn’t actually a good idea…” (sic)

“OMG, she is planning to kill Corey!?” Wini commented.
