CSI star David Caruso looked completely unrecognisable after being spotted in public for the first time in six years.
The actor, famous for his role as Lieutenant Horatio Caine in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Detective John Kelly in NYPD Blue, looked very different to how viewers came to know him.
The last time David was snapped was in June 2017 at LAX airport with his kids, Marquez, 18, and Paloma, 16.
The retired actor, who hasn’t been on TV since 2012, was spotted outside his home in San Fernando Valley, California, last month.
Dressed casually in a blue hoodie, green T-shirt and khaki trousers, David’s chin-length hair was parted down the middle and still brightly coloured despite his age.
David starred in over 200 episodes of CSI Miami as Horatio Caine. The show ended after 10 seasons in 2021, and David hasn’t appeared on TV or film since. In 2002, he spoke about the show’s popularity with viewers.
He told CNN: “You know, I think it’s an easy trap to fall into if you get hooked by it. But the good news is in today’s world of so many options in entertainment, if you’re getting some attention, that’s a positive thing.”
The star of the show shared: “Being a part of the ‘CSI’ family was so effortless for all of us, it would be great if we could do the show for a while. I’d be very comfortable doing this,” he added.

After retiring from acting, he ventured into the art world and opened a gallery in Westlake Village, Los Angeles. This news comes shortly after the tragic death of his former co-star Evan Ellingson on November 5 in California, as confirmed by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
A spokesperson for the department told E! News that Evan’s death was ruled an accident due to an accidental overdose of fentanyl. Evan had previously starred alongside Cameron Diaz and Abigal Breslin in the 2009 film My Sister’s Keeper, based on the book of the same name, where he played the role of Jesse Fitzgerald, Cameron’s son and Abigal’s brother.

Evan, a former child actor, had been battling drug addiction and was living in a sober house at the time of his death. His family revealed that he had been sober for three years before relapsing following a medical procedure.
His family stated to NBC: “He was passionate about pointing individuals to resources for help and only recently relapsed after being prescribed opioids following a dental procedure,” and “In the end, he fell in his earthly battle with addiction.”
