Rebekah Vardy’s Dancing on Ice partner has revealed he can’t ‘even hug his wife’ due to Covid-19 restrictions while they film for the 2021 series.
Rebekah and skating pro Andy Buchanan made their debut in the competition on Sunday night, and after their stunning performance, they scored an impressive 25 out of 40.
The duo took some time out of their rehearsals on Tuesday to speak with the Loose Women panel.
Charlene White, who recently took over from Andrea McLean, asked Andy about the changes to the show this year.
‘Andy, I do have to ask you because filming this is very different from when you filmed last time around?’ she began.
‘Obviously you’re in Covid restrictions, does that change this whole experience for for you?’
‘You know it does,’ the pro simply replied. ‘The thing I love about the show is the people we get to work with.
‘We still still them from a distance but it’s not the same vibe. You come in and it’s a little bit more focussed.’
‘I’m just glad I have a partner that I really like and we have fun everyday,’ he added.
‘Man, if I was stuck with somebody who was a nightmare, I mean come on.’
‘I can’t even hug my wife because we are in a bubble together,’ he continued pointing to Rebekah.
‘Robin is in a bubble with Rufus (Hound) so we go on walks together outside from a distance, but this is my support bubble right here.’
TV bosses were forced to make a lot of changes to the programme this year to ensure the safety of cast and crew and to meet government guidelines.
Some of the differences are that there is no studio audience and the judges are all separated by perplex screens.
A number of the celebs are also living with their dance partners.
Loose Women airs daily at 12.30pm on ITV.
