Ashley Banjo could miss this weekend’s Dancing On Ice if his wife Francesca goes into labour.
Judge Ashley’s baby is due this week and he has permission from ITV bosses to quit rehearsals – or even the live show – if he needs to.
A show source said: “Ashley is very professional and it’s business as normal at the moment. But if Francesca or the hospital calls when he is at the studio, he has permission to leave immediately…
“He is not going to wait around at home for it to happen but, equally, he is not going to miss the birth because of his judging job.”
The pair revealed last year they were expecting their first child following a “tough” journey to conceive.
This week Ashley, 30, said on Instagram he and Fran are “patiently waiting” for their baby to arrive.
The Diversity dancer and his long-term love were seen cosying up in bed, with Francesca clutching her baby bump and planting a kiss on Ashley’s head.
He wrote: “Waking up early every morning – just patiently waiting for the bump to become a baby… Any moment now… #babybanjo.”
If Ashley misses Sunday’s show, ITV execs may bring in former judge Karen Barber, 57, as a stand-in.
