Danniella Westbrook crushed over Jeremy Kyle Show axe: ‘I wouldn’t be alive without him’

During her appearance on this morning’s episode of Jeremy Vine on 5, Danniella Westbrook learned about the axing of the talkshow live on air.

Having proclaimed she has known Jeremy for over 20 years, the TV personality revealed she’s “devastated” over the programme being permanently pulled.

Speaking to Jeremy Vine, the mum-of-two made the stark revelation that if it wasn’t for the TV host she “wouldn’t be alive.”

In an open and honest interview she insisted Jeremy Kyle is a good person.

“If it wasn’t for Jeremy Kyle, I wouldn’t be alive myself.”

She said: “He’s done a lot of good in people’s lives. He’s a great father.

“The things you don’t see with Jeremy are the good things.

“If it wasn’t for Jeremy Kyle, I wouldn’t be alive myself.”

She added: “As much as it’s very sad for this guy [Steve Dymond] who took his life at a time he was very vulnerable.

“At a time when I was very vulnerable, he [Jeremy Kyle] was the only person that stepped up and put me into rehab.

“A lot of people have been fixed thanks to Jeremy Kyle.”

When Jeremy Vine subsequently asked the actress if “he broke people as well”.

She responded: “I don’t think he broke anybody.

“I had no solution in my life, I was the most broken person ever. He opened the door that no one in the world wanted to.”

ITV’s CEO Carolyn McCall announced earlier today Jeremy Kyle had been axed.

She wrote: “Given the gravity of recent events we have decided to end production of The Jeremy Kyle Show.”

“The Jeremy Kyle Show has had a loyal audience and has been made by a dedicated production team for 14 years, but now is the right time for the show to end.

“Everyone at ITV’s thoughts and sympathies are with the family and friends of Steve Dymond.

“ITV will continue to work with Jeremy Kyle on other projects.”
