Dec Donnelly remembered to thank fans for their support throughout the series, but Ant McPartlin’s name was nowhere to be heard in the series finale of Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.
The epic season finale was full of music and dance, with a huge conga, Jason Derulo, Craig David and an opening Blues Brothers musical number.
But as the series came to a close, Dec thanked the audience, fans, and all those who have been there for them throughout – except Ant.
Ant has not appeared on the show since he was arrested and subsequently charged for a drink-driving offence, and there was a great deal of speculation as to how to show would continue without him.
But Dec took to the podium alone for the finale two episodes of the show, with only one being cancelled in the series overall.
Dec said as the audience roared with applause: "That it is from Florida and from the entire series.
"Thank you to all who made it tonight, all of oru guests, Stephen Mulhern, Scarlett Moffatt , The Rembrandts, Mark Wright, Jason Derulo, Craig David and DEnise Richards.
"But finally The Voice is next, Britain’s Got Talent is back next Saturday.
"Thanks to all of you for watching and thank you for all the love and support during the series – goodnight everybody."
But viewers who wanted to see Ant were not disappointed as he did briefly appear – in the pre-recorded sketch Saturday Knight Takeaway.
In the sketch, Ant and Dec found out who the mole from The Dishonoured really was, and were able to thwart the group and its malevolent leader, Noel Edmonds.
They even shared a special embrace, which many found rather emotional given the circumstances.
But his name was not mentioned as the series closed, and some fans were missing his presence on the stage.
The future of the series has not been confirmed, but Dec will be hosting Britain’s Got Talent live shows alone.
