DRAGON'S Den host Evan Davis has told how he has a "positive Covid test" despite being double vaccinated – and will be temporarily replaced on his radio show.
The economist and broadcaster, 59, took to his Twitter page to explain his surprise absence from his Radio 4 PM programme.
He wrote: "Thanks to Jonny Dymond for filling in for me again on @BBCPM today. I'm off work as I'm 'living the story' with my own positive Covid test.
"It was a PCR home test taken on Saturday as I live in a surge borough.
"The result was a big surprise as I have no obvious symptoms, regular negatives lateral flow tests (including the day of the PCR and since then too), a record of assiduous mask-wearing and I'm weeks beyond my second vax.
"Haven't sat indoors at a bar or restaurant since Marching 2020."

The BBC voiceover added: "I guess I have a very mild case and the lateral flow tests are barely able to pick it up.
"But there must be thousands like me who look safe on LTFs but would pass a PCR if it was done, and don’t realise it."

The Made In Britain author followed up with personal updates on the reality of self-isolating at hoime.
He added: "Yet another observation: my partner has done a PCR test and we await the results. But he has to isolate anyway.
"Turns out distancing at home is really difficult when you are both there the whole time.. And keeping away from the dog (as per the advice) is all but impossible."
Evan reassured his radio fans and added: "I will be back on air from home very soon when we set up the kit again. Keep well."

Evan's isolation comes just days after Health Secretary Sajid Javid told how he had tested positive with "mild symptoms."
He too had received both doses of the vaccine.
MAKING CASES MILDER
Experts say the good news is vaccines are making cases milder, as those infected who have had a jab reported fewer symptoms.
The ZOE app further suggests that even if cases are on the rise, it will not translate to more hospitalisations and deaths.
Those vaccinated with a positive Covid test result said they had far fewer symptoms during infection than those who were not vaccinated.
They reported either one of zero symptoms in their first week of infection compared to five in those without a jab.
And less than half had the “classic” symptoms of a persistent cough, fever, and loss of sense of smell compared to almost 70 per cent of those unvaccinated.
Although vaccines have blown expectations when it comes to prevention of severe disease, some people will still catch the coronavirus if it is in circulation, suffering a mild infection.
Sadly a very small number will still get severely sick because the jabs are not 100 per cent effective.
