Eamonn Holmes was joined by Rosie Wright on GB News’ breakfast show on Thursday with the latter stepping in for Isabel Webster. During the programme, Eamonn admitted he had been “shuffling about” on his seat because he was struggling with the aftereffects of a back pain procedure he’d had the night before.

As the presenters discussed rising energy bills, Eamonn interjected: “Talk about sucking up energy, you see me shuffling about here as I sit on the most uncomfortable stool for three and a half hours.

“So I’ve got this problem with my back and sciatic nerve and someone recommended to me to get the circulation flowing around your body – that you should become more like a hedgehog.”

“This is me last night,” Eamonn added as viewers saw a picture of Eamonn with cylinders suctioned across his back.

“Oh my god, Eamonn,” Rosie exclaimed looking at the image.

“This is what is called cupping, the thing is James, who does it on me he’s my physio, did it on me and then he went home and he left me like that,” he explained.

“You had to take them off yourself?” Rosie asked and her co-host joked: “I couldn’t get them off I had to sleep on my front all night.”

Rosie commented the procedure looked “painful” as Eamonn admitted he hadn’t had to sleep with the cups on his back.

“Does it hurt?” Rosie asked and Eamonn replied: “Yes it leaves big bruises.”

The presenter asked the former This Morning host if the treatment was effective.

“Just to say to you I’m sure in your time someone has sunk their teeth into you in a romantic way,” Eamonn quipped.

“We were talking about his earlier and I said absolutely not,” Rosie hit back.

“So Rosie you’re telling me you deny that ever happening to you?” Eamonn remarked.

The GB News host told him she was “denying that ever happened”.

“You haven’t lived,” Eamonn joked and she quipped: “Maybe I’m so boring.”

Answering Rosie’s question on whether the treatment helped, he continued: “I think so.

“Viewers will look at me and say, ‘He looks moronic today, looks even more moronic than he normally is.’ But it did help me sleep a bit better I think.”
