Can you believe the Christmas flashforward sequence in EastEnders aired way back in February?
If you’re wondering what on earth we’re talking about then allow us to explain. Back in February, as we were finding a random Christmas ornament here and there that we had forgotten to tidy away, EastEnders had put their trees back up for a festive look into the future.
It confirmed that someone will be found dead in the Queen Vic this Christmas – and that Suki (Balvinder Sopal), Denise (Diane Parish), Stacey (Lacey Turner), Kathy (Gillian Taylforth) and Linda (Kellie Bright) will all be present when the body is discovered.
To make things even more interesting, we also have the small matter of Ian (Adam Woodyatt) and Cindy (Michelle Collins) coming back to Walford, after an episode of the BBC One soap revealed that Cindy was very much alive after being killed off-screen 25 years ago.
‘It’s Ian and Cindy’s first Christmas back in Walford!’, EastEnders boss Chris Clenshaw teased.
‘It will be a big Christmas in the Beale house.’
Whether Ian and Cindy will be involved in the Christmas murder remains to be seen, but they could well be back in time for Kathy (Gillian Taylforth) and Rocky’s (Brian Conley) upcoming wedding, which will be a vital watch when it comes to a certain item of jewellery that is found on the dead body in the pub in December.
‘We’ve got Rocky and Kathy’s nuptials and there’s an unexpected guest who arrives and watch out for the cufflinks around this episode…’, Chris said.
As we get further into the year, clues are being dropped all of the time, but will EastEnders allow us to work out who will be killed before the scene airs, or keep it a surprise?
