Emmy nominations were announced on Tuesday morning, meaning television stans flocked to Twitter in order to share their opinions on the TV shows that will be recognized during this year’s ceremony on September 19th. No show caused more of a stir, however, than Netflix’s Emily in Paris.
Following its release last year, Emily in Paris immediately faced a bit of criticism, with some saying it portrayed a “cliche” and “stereotypical” version of the city. Despite that, the show was nominated for two Golden Globes in February, though they didn’t end up taking any awards home. Still, when Emily in Paris received an Emmy nom for Best Comedy Series, many took to Twitter to share their thoughts.
