Emmerdale‘s Daz Spencer is facing the threat of jail after stealing from the factory in yet another bad move.
Daz was hauled away by the police in the closing moments of Monday’s episode (August 20), as the Spencer family’s ongoing financial troubles spiralled badly out of control.
Last week, Daz’s brother Dan confided in him about a worrying debt problem, admitting that the Spencers were likely to be evicted within days over unpaid rent.
Monday’s episode saw Daz (Mark Jordon) take drastic measures to deal with the situation on behalf of his family, snatching factory money that Nicola King had left on her desk.
Since Dan’s partner Kerry Wyatt had spent most of the day asking everyone for financial help, suspicion quickly turned to her as the possible reason for the missing money.
As Nicola and Jai Sharma publicly confronted Kerry (Laura Norton) about stealing the cash in a showdown at The Woolpack, she protested her innocence but was frustrated that nobody seemed to believe her.
Unable to let Kerry take the fall, Daz eventually came clean as the real culprit – just as the police arrived at the pub to arrest the thief.
Although Daz optimistically suggested they could sort the situation out amongst themselves, no-nonsense Jai stuck to his guns and insisted that he’d be pressing charges. As a result, Daz was taken off to face the music.
Emmerdale viewers will see big consequences from Daz’s actions over the coming days, as he has to deal with the legal repercussions of his big mistake.
Plus, how will Bernice Blackstock feel about having a thief for a partner? Could this cause trouble for their relationship?
Emmerdale continues on Tuesday (August 21) at 7pm on ITV.
