Jamie Tate (played by Alexander) has convinced the police he was not responsible for Moira Barton’s (Natalie J. Robb) hit-and-run. New Emmerdale arrival and Moira’s brother Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) appeared to stand-by the village vet when Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) tried to put things right but could his allegiance to the vet be a ruse to earn his trust in a bid to secure justice for Moira?

The vet was horrified when Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) betrayed him and told the police the truth.

Belle’s plan tragically backfired when Jamie framed her for the crash but heroically Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) stepped in to protect her.

Moira is desperate to stop an innocent man going to prison but Cain’s attempts to force Jamie to confess have been thwarted by newcomer Mackenzie.

Speaking to express.co.uk and other press, actress Natalie revealed Moira is hell-bent on revenge.

When she discovered Jamie was responsible for the hit-and-run, Moira was furious.

Natalie explained: “She didn’t react well when she realised that she’s lost time with the kids.

“She’s lost time with her work. She nearly died, all she’s after is justice, really.”

Mackenzie and Moira’s relationship is strained and it seems the newcomer isn’t looking to reconcile with his sister any time soon.

Emmerdale viewers were shocked when Mackenzie blackmailed Cain and Sam Dingle (James Hooton) as the pair attempted to force Jamie to confess.

Mackenzie secretly listened into the confrontation before revealing he had recorded the whole thing.

However, could Mackenzie be tricking Jamie into trusting him before eventually betraying the vet?

The mysterious newcomer arrived in Emmerdale with revenge on his mind but that could be set to change.

ITV soap star Lawrence teased a reunion between the siblings could be on the horizon.

“I don’t know I would hope so,” Lawrence told Express.co.uk. “But then I don’t know.

“I was saying to Natalie, who’s an absolute gem and wonderful I’m going to find it exceedingly difficult to hate her or pretend to hate her on the show because she’s so lovely.”

Will Mackenzie win Jamie’s trust and uncover some incriminating evidence?

Although the Scotsman has no desire to assist his sister at the moment, as he spends more time in Emmerdale he could realise he’s missed his sister’s presence in his life.

Moira wants to build bridges with her brother and would welcome the chance for them to become a family again.

Will Mackenzie shock the village and betray Jamie to get revenge for Moira?

Emmerdale airs weekdays on ITV at 7pm.
