Emmerdale: Priya asks Al about where he's been
Secrets never say secret for long in soapland, so it will only be a matter of weeks until Emmerdale fans tune in to see Priya Sharma (played by Fiona Wade) and Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb) come face to face. With the two in a romantic entanglement with Al Chapman (Michael Wildman), will there be a showdown between the women when the find out one is being cheated on and the other is the mistress? Express.co.uk spoke to those involved in the storyline and it seems a twist is in store which will see the two of them team up together – after they’ve had the initial screaming match of course.
Michael already explained how his character will do “whatever is necessary” to protect his affair, but how will Priya react when she finds out her fiancé has been playing away behind her back.
“She’s definitely not walk over. I think Priya is a strong woman,” the actress said. “She’s a single mum, she’s a working mum, she helps run a business.
“She’s been hurt before. She has been a woman that’s been through it. All this isn’t new to her.
“So I think she’ll be heartbroken. But I also think we shouldn’t underestimate that she’s a strong woman that isn’t going to take anything lightly or lay down anymore. You might see different sides of her,” Fiona said.

So what is going to happen when Priya and Debbie come face to face – will there be an almighty ruckus as they tried to understand what is really going on?
“You’ll have to wait and see,” Fiona teased. “I can’t really say too much but it’s definitely going to be different and maybe unexpected.
“Whatever happens, it’ll be dramatic. I can’t really say!”
When asked whether there is a lot still to come from the storyline, Fiona added: “Definitely, definitely.
“I think there’s a lot more drama to come a lot of twists and turns. So it’s gonna be really exciting.”
And Michael continued: “I think you’ll see another side to Priya that people wouldn’t have seen before. And I’m privileged to play Al to be honest.”
And the “drama” might have something to do with how Debbie feels for Al.
While Priya won’t allow Al to walk over her after his betrayal, Debbie might be more forgiving.

Discussing her comeback, Charley explained how her character truly felt about the businessman.
She said: “I think they’ve been seeing each for quite a while, so I do think she has fallen for him quite a lot.
“I think she’s always cautious when it comes to men so she’s probably not fully in there. She definitely sees a life with him and Jack’s met him.
“I think she’s involved, not a little bit of fun, it’s proper relationship as far as she’s concerned, they are together,” the actress said.
And Charley added to Fiona’s comments about when their characters collide and learn the truth: “It’s not going to go down that well.
“I think there could be some fireworks. I think she’s [Debbie] going to be really hurt; she’s let another guy into her life and it’s all going wrong.
“She’s not going to let him get away with it, there will definitely be consequences.”
Emmerdale airs tonight at 7pm on ITV.
