Emmerdale’s new arrival Suzy Merton turned the village upside down in recent weeks after she moved to Beckindale last week.

The character on the popular ITV soap – played by Martelle Edinborough – arrived in the dales as a potential love interest for Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) after the bumped into each other in a random meeting.

Vanessa and Suzy initially met last week when they got into a heated argument after the blonde belle accidentally knocked a gender reveal cake Suzy was carrying out of her hands and onto the floor.

Despite at first getting off on the wrong foot, viewers could instantly see the sparks fly between the pair after the long-standing character managed to grab a date with her this week.

But less than after she settled into the Yorkshire village, the brunette beauty is set to run into her first bout of trouble as she enjoys her highly-anticipated date with the vet.

At the start of the week, Vanessa accepts an invitation to dinner with the new village resident but fans are left heartbroken after the star stupidly spilt wine all over her phone while looking after her poorly son Johnny (Luca Hepworth).

Now unable to tell Suzy that she couldn’t make it, the loving mum feels terrible for standing her up without the chance to explain herself over the phone.

When the dynamic duo meet up the next day, Vanessa makes every effort to make up for her absence as she treats her love interest to a wine tasting date at David’s shop.

And it’s clear to see the blonde bombshell dressed to impress for her do-over date with the newcomer as fans are treated to a look at their romantic date together.

By the end of the date the loveable Suzy suggests the pair move their date over to the Woolpack for another drink when they bump into Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi).

It was clear to see Leyla was rattled by the interaction after she spotted Vanessa and Suzy together which left the medical expert curious as to how they knew each other.

When asked, Suzy explained that the pair knew each other from work but after witnessing Leyla’s reaction to their meeting Vanessa’s head is left reeling.

And things took a dark turn when Suzy promised to keep Leyla’s secrets as she left the pub shortly behind Vanessa.
