Emmerdale villain Lachlan White’s crimes from sexual assault to violent murder

Lachlan White looks like he is finally behind bars for murder, but this is only the beginning of the pain and trouble he has caused so many people.

He has murdered, assaulted, abused and angered so many people throughout his tirade of terror, but it looks like he may finally be getting his just desserts as he was locked away, with Rebecca White now back and able to out him for all of his heinous crimes.

But what exactly has Lachlan done over his time in the Dales? Here is a timeline of his most dastardly deeds.

Sexual assault of Alicia Metcalfe

Alicia, who is the mother of Jacob Gallagher, helped look out for Lachlan after she saw the young boy was getting bullied.

It was clear after a short while, however, that he had more than just an admiration for her, which was made clear when Chrissie, Lachlan’s mother, found he had taken lots of photographs of her.

He claimed he was using them to help Jacob make a book for her, which was true, but he clearly enjoyed imagining the two together and ended up buying her an expensive handbag in hope she would like him back.

Her husband, David, told him to get rid of it, but later Lachlan still believed she loved him, and sexually assaulted her.

She was furious and threw him out of the house immediately, but he lied and told everyone they were a couple and she was in on it, which was soon debunked and he was put on the sex offenders’ list.

Shooting of Lawrence White

Lawrence, Lachlan’s grandfather, threw out his grandson and daughter after it was revealed he may be gay.

Then, on Lachlan’s 16th birthday, he broke into Home Farm and held Lawrence at gunpoint, after his grandfather slapped him in a fight about the reasons for their removal from the house.

Lachlan wanted Lawrence to apologise to his mum, but they wrestled over the gun and Lachlan accidentally shot him.

Chrissie rushed in and told Lachlan what to do, and it turned out they planted the gun on Robert Sugden’s brother, Andy.

Later, Lachlan confessed to the police it was actually him behind the shooting, and covered up for his mother over framing Andy, and was charged with attempted murder and perverting the course of justice.

Murder of Chrissie and Lawrence White

Lachlan grew tired of his family and so blackmailed them to letting him move in with Belle Dingle, only for Belle to break up with him soon after.

He realised this was to do with his mother, and confronted them just as they were about to chase Robert in a car, as he had stolen baby Seb.

Lachlan jumped in with them and, in a moment of panic, grabbed the wheel and sent the car into the path of an oncoming lorry.

Lawrence was killed instantly as he dove out of his seat to stop Lachlan killing them, while Chrissie died after her son told her how it was all their fault.

Rebecca, his aunt and Seb’s mother, was left with a serious brain injury.

Murder of Gerry Roberts

Lachlan and Belle got back together and later, she went missing for a while and later, Lachlan enlisted the help of his friend Gerry to go and find her.

He started saying things about people dying "because of him" which made Gerry suspicious, so the young man dug out a copy of the voice message Lachlan left him on the day of the crash.

Horrified Gerry told his friend he knew what he did, and Lachlan became worried Gerry might let the secret slip out as he kept making jokes about the crash.

In the end, Lachlan lured him to the B&B and kicked a barrel which meant a towering column dropped onto him.

Still alive, Gerry pleaded for mercy, but Lachlan finished him off by dropping a rock on his head, letting him die.

He let Doug Potts take the blame, and the old man did community service for not properly closing off the B&B building site.

Murder of Paul Tozer

After Gerry’s death a conman, claiming to be Gerry’s uncle, came to try and get money from Doug by suing for damages.

In the end, he left with a hefty sum of money Lachlan left him in the hope he would go away, but did not realise the conman had taken drawing Gerry made which were of the car crash.

To cover his tracks, and to stop a barrage of threatening texts from coming in, Lachlan went to find him and killed him.

Later, after Priya Sharma was left feeling uncomfortable by a number of Lachlan’s actions, she set out to find out why Lachlan was so shifty, and in her search found the rock which was covered in Paul’s blood.

Attempted murder of Liv Flaherty and Robert Sugden

The texts continued after Paul’s death, making Lachlan believe Liv was the culprit who suspected him.

She had made her suspicions clear anyway, so to try to keep her silence, Lachlan went to her house and turned of the carbon monoxide monitor, letting the vapours get into Liv and Robert’s lungs.

In the end, his plan was stopped by Rebecca as she feared Seb was unsafe, and tried to get in, but Lachlan hit her over the head.

Kidnapping of Rebecca White

After this, he chained her up in a cabin in the woods for weeks.

She tried to escape many times and, during their fearful conversations, he revealed his murderous deeds to her.

After feeling their situation could not continue, it looked as though he killed her, as she was taken from the hut, which was then burned to the ground.

But it turned out he had sent her off to live with a nurse, bankrolling her "treatment" and told the nurse she was insane and could not be let out at any cost.

Eventually, the nurse realised Lachlan was proved to be guilty of murder, and somehow, Rebecca escaped her clutches.

Final showdown

Belle returned home to find blood on Lachlan’s top, and realised he was lying, only to find Sam beaten behind the bar.

Lachlan, who had gun, tried to convince Belle to run away with him, but in the end Robert came to the door and tried to help Belle escape.

But Lachlan caught him and tied him to a chair, before another wrestle for the gun left him trying to escape with Belle as Robert, with Cain and Zak Dingle, tried to track them down.

Belle ran from him but ended up being hit by Robert’s car as it sped to catch Lachlan, but Belle ended up fine and well as LAchlan was arrested.
