Fans of Emmerdale have been captivated by Rebecca White’s harrowing, and at times baffling, kidnap ordeal, but no-one is more impressed than her own father.
Anthony Head – yes, we do mean Rupert Giles from Buffy the Vampire Slayer – praised his daughter on Twitter following Tuesday’s (August 7) episode.
“Lovely moment at end of @emmerdale last night with @emily_head, (it looked painful,) made all the more special by a dolly-zoom”, he wrote, before praising the camera op for the ‘beautiful’ shot.
Ah, there’s nothing like a proud dad, is there?
Tuesday’s episode saw Rebecca White come closer to freedom than ever before, after children exploring the woodland nearly stumbled upon Lachlan’s horrifying secret.
After being scared away by mysterious noises, the children quickly ran away – leaving Rebecca alone and fighting to stay alive in the abandoned shack once more.
When asked when her character will escape Lachlan’s terror in a recent interview, Emily Head revealed that it’s actually more of a question of “if”.
“Well, we don’t know if she does!” she said, adding: “I’ve never been chained in a shack before! I was really enjoying reading the scripts. My cast mates were asking ‘what happens next?’ I said, ‘I don’t know!'”
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
