In recent weeks, Emmerdale viewers have watched as evil nurse Meena Jutla (played by Paige Sandhu) continued her reign of terror in the village. However, in scenes which aired on the ITV soap last week, Meena was finally caught red-handed by Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) after he rescued Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) and Manpreet Sharma, (Rebecca Sarker) who were being held hostage by the villain.
Despite being caught out, Meena was able to escape the clutches of the police, and it is unclear where she has gone.
During her latest plan, Meena came clean to Manpreet about her killing spree and who she had targeted so far.
The nurse confessed she had murdered Liam’s daughter, Leanna (Mimi Slinger) and Ben Tucker (Simon Lennon) after they discovered her killer past.
The information could also help to free Liv Flaherty (Isabel Steele) who is serving time in prison for a crime she didn’t commit.
However, the only person who knows the truth is Manpreet, who is fighting for her life in hospital after Meena drugged her.
In scenes that aired on Monday night, Vinny is adamant on setting his love interest free from prison.
At the beginning of the episode, Vinny’s mum, Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) let slip Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) called Liv to explain Meena had confessed the truth about Ben’s death.
Although, an angry Vinny was quick to point out the only person who could expose the nurse was Manpreet, who was in a coma.
“The last thing Liv needs is false expectations,” Vinny raged as Mandy said: “Sorry!”
“Chas was just excited,” Mandy continued. “You know what she can be like. By the time I found out, it was too late.”
Later on, Vinny paid a visit to Liv in prison where she quizzed him about Manpreet.
“I have asked them when I am going to get out, but they don’t know anything,” Liv began.
She continued: “What happens now? Do the police speak to the courts? Is that how it works?”
“Liv, just listen for a second,” Vinny interrupted as she asked: “Can you not speak to them?”
“It’s not that simple,” Vinny raged as Liv hit back: “I never said it was that simple but Meena has confessed.”
As she calmed down, Vinny admitted: “Not to me, or the police.”
Liv went on to point out Vinny was there with Manpreet, but he replied: “No when she confessed I wasn’t.”
Breaking the news about Manpreet’s condition, Vinny added: “Manpreet had a heart attack yesterday and she’s not come around yet.
“I am sorry, Liv but it has to come direct from her so you’re just going to have to be patient.”
As Liv reeled from the news, she asked her cellmate if she could get her some alcohol.
When she got turned down, Liv snapped: “Shut up, please.”
“I’ll let that pass as I can see you’re upset,” her cellmate Mel replied. “Come on, Liv tell your aunty Mel all about it. You got done, Liv. A bit like me, accept it.”
“Shut up, Mel,” Liv raged as her cellmate replied: “That’s twice you’ve said that to me now.
“Someone needs to learn some manners,” Mel added before closing the cell door.
The episode concluded with Liv lying on the cell floor covered in blood.
Has Mel ended up killing the youngster before the truth about Meena and Ben is finally exposed?
