Five huge revelations from the Kardashians’ TV return including Kanye consoling Kim

They’ve only been gone from our screens for six months, but it’s safe to say The Kardashians have been sorely missed by diehard fans.

Luckily for the reality royalty family’s followers, they’re making their much-anticipated return to our screens this week with a brand new Disney+ show – this time simply called The Kardashians.

The programme, which premieres today, picks up with the famous sisters – Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, Kendall and Kylie – as well as mum Kris Jenner.

And, in typical Kardashians fashion, there’s lots to update their fans on – from new relationships (we’re looking at you ‘Kravis’) to how Kim and ex-husband Kanye West are handling their divorce.

Here, we chat about the five biggest bombshells of the episode – and what we can expect to see next as the show promises plenty more drama…

Kim Kardashian’s old sex tape resurfaces

Many remember Kim’s infamous sex tape with then boyfriend Ray J. Now, twenty years on, the scandal is once again sparking drama for Kim.

In the first episode, her son Saint was playing the popular online game Roblox when he showed Kim an online character, seemingly threatening to release an unseen second tape of her.

Kim is furious and says “if my son was a little bit older and old enough to read… I was mortified I would’ve died inside.”

Later on in the episode we see Kim on the phone to her lawyers trying to solve the issue, “I'm protecting myself, my reputation and my children,” she claims.

While Kim also turned to ex, rapper Kanye West, as he consoles her over the phone as she cries telling him about what has happened.

Kim and Kanye’s divorce

Viewers of the former reality show, Keeping up with the Kardashian’s, will know Kim has always been tight-lipped about her relationship with Kanye.

So when they announced their split at the beginning of last year after seven years of marriage, many were shocked.

In the first episode of the new series, however, Kim is adamant the pair are still on good terms.

“Kanye and I are still going through our divorce now,” she said on the show. “We’re just trying to figure it out – how to be good parents to our kids together, how to be good friends to each other. Ultimate goal, no matter what, is just happiness.”

Of course, since filming there has been public upset between as Kanye has publicly hit out at Kim's new boyfriend Pete Davidson and vowed he would never meet their kids.

Kanye dated actress Julia Fox earlier this year before moving on to Chaney Jones.

Kourtney and Travis romance

In the opening episode of the show’s new series, viewers can finally see how Hollywood’s hottest couple, Kourtney and the Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker got together.

Kourtney tells the camera: “He was one of my closest friends for eight years.” The pair have lived just a block away from each other for several years now.

“I was always attracted to Travis,” Kourtney confesses. “My closest best friends always said I should hook up with him.”

So during the pandemic the reality star took the plunge and started making “flirtatious conversation” with Travis over text.

“I made the first move,” Kourtney explains, revealing that she kissed him whilst the pair were watching a movie, “I wasn’t waiting around.”

The kiss clearly worked as Kourtney goes on to tell viewers at home: “We fell in love and now he’s my boyfriend.”

The pair have since 'married' in a non-legally binding Las Vegas wedding hours after attending the Grammys.

Tristan wants Khloe back

Fans of the Kardashian family will know 37 year old Khloe has been unlucky in love. Speculation about the relationship status of her and the father to her four year old daughter True, Tristan Thompson, has swirled for years amid cheating claims against the basketball player.

The season premiere only seems to add fuel to the fire of these rumours. In the episode the pair admit they have been going to couples therapy together and Khloe confesses: “If Tristan had his way we would be together.”

“Every day he tries to prove to me that I should have faith in him and trust him because he's a new person,” she says to the cameras.

Whilst Tristan tells her: “you know how I feel about you and that I wanna get back together and expand our family.”

Scott wants to finally move on

Whilst Kourtney and Travis are seemingly loved-up, not all the cast members of the new show are as lucky in the romance department.

Noticeably the father of Kourtney’s three children, Scott Disick, was excluded from the first of likely many family parties in the opening episode.

Kourtney and Scott dated on and off from 2005 until they split for good in 2015. In the final series of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, it looked as though a romance could be back on track as the family continued to push them together.

But, in the new series, it's clear this is definitely not the case. Later in the episode, Scott tells Khloe that for the first time in his life things are finally starting to change.

“Now Kourtney has her life with Travis, as hard as it is, I can finally start to move on,” he admits.

He does however confess to the Kardashian sister that mourning his relationship and friendship with Kourtney has been difficult. “It was a huge adjustment losing her romantically, then it was hard losing her as a best friend. Now we're just co-parenters,” he says.
