Love Island's Gemma Owen, the daughter of former footballer Michael Owen, is still yet to reveal to her fellow Islanders who her famous dad is.

However, with the arrival of Jay Younger, that could all be about to change.

The 28 year old Scottish hottie, 24, has something in common with Gemma, 19, as they both have relatives who have played for Liverpool.

Jay's grandad, Tommy Younger, played for Liverpool from 1956 to 1959, as well as captaining Scotland during the same time.

The legendary goalkeeper was also inducted into the Hibernian Hall of Fame, which was accepted by Jay's dad, Tommy Younger, in March 2022.

Despite the 37 years between his last appearance for the Merseyside club and Michael's first appearance there's a chance the investment analyst could use his special bond with Gemma to get to know her.

Speaking ahead of his imminent arrival, Jay said: "My grandad played for Liverpool and he was captain of Scotland back in the 1950s.

"He was in the hall of fame for Liverpool and he was in the hall of fame for Hibernian F.C."

Fans of the ITV2 show have grown suspicious that the Islanders already know following the arrival of Gemma's ex, Jacques O'Neill.

The 19 year old and Jacques, 23, dated for eight months but broke up around a year and a half before the show began.

Jacques was clearly very close to Gemma's family and even asked her during Sunday's show how the were.

Many believe he will be the one to spill the beans on who Gemma's famous relative is, if Jay doesn't beat him to it.

One person tweeted: "I'm sure Jacques will say in a convo 'do you know who her dad is?' Them: 'who' Jacques: 'what? She ain’t told you yet'. Them: No, who is it' Here comes Luca ' Wait her surname is Owen, omggg its Michael Owen' #LoveIsland.”

Another person stated: "Waiting for Jacques to spill the tea on Gemma’s dad."

A third person said: "Reckon it’ll be Jacques that spills who Gemma’s dad is."

Although Gemma has decided not to namedrop her dad yet she has made subtle references to him, even going as far to tell Luca Bish that her dad would get on with the former professional football player.

Liam Llewellyn, who began his Love Island journey with Gemma before deciding to leave the villa, revealed recently that he had no idea who her famous dad was.
