Ginny & Georgia is one of the latest TV shows taking over Netflix. Released in February 2021, the series focuses on a mom and daughter who move from Texas to Massachusetts following a family tragedy. The season 1 finale brought plenty of drama that has viewers on edge and eager for new episodes. Teasing what’s to come, actor Antonia Gentry gave an interview where she highlighted past Easter eggs and what they mean for Ginny & Georgia Season 2.

What happened in ‘Ginny & Georgia’ Season 1?

By the end of the season, Ginny had discovered the truth about the death of her stepfather: Georgia poisoned and killed him.

Angry and afraid of her mom, Ginny took her brother Austin and ran away from home, riding out on a motorbike to an unknown location. As they fled, the newly engaged Georgia was out with the mayor with no idea that her kids were leaving home.

Season 2 will pick up from there

Though it’s unclear where Ginny is headed, there’s lots of speculation that she’s on her way to Zion’s place. Gentry (Ginny) suggested that may be true in an interview with TVLine, pointing to the “Easter eggs” that were dropped when Ginny made up her mind to leave.

Gentry continued, “I don’t know if you notice, but when she’s packing her bag, she grabs the book that Zion gives her, and if you were paying attention, when Zion arrives and is giving her the book, you know that he included an address. He has that secret coded message in it, and she finds out that it’s his address to his Boston apartment. So I’m thinking it’s pretty reasonable to assume that Ginny might be headed toward Zion, but I don’t want to tell people what to think, even though the clues are all there.”

While on the topic of Zion, Gentry also addressed who she’d want Georgia to end up with between him, Paul, and Joe. “Man, for Ginny’s sake, I say Zion, all the way. But for my sake, as an audience member, Joe, for sure. He’s just such a sweetheart,” she stated.

Viewers will see what happens when season 2 comes out

At the time of this writing, Netflix has not approved a second season of the show.

In the event that it does, it seems possible that the next season could come out sometime in 2022. Generally, shows put out a new season around the time the previous one came out. But even if it did get renewed, with the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, which has caused a number of production delays, it’s possible it could come out later.

We guess fans will just have to wait and hope for the best. In the meantime, the show can be streamed on Netflix now.
