We all can’t wait for the return of The Great British Bake Off this evening (August 28), though if you’re planning to tune in live, you’d better get the time right.
Well, at least don’t go by Good Morning Britain‘s Kate Garraway’s guidance, as she completely forgot when it airs.
During today’s episode of the ITV morning show, Kate and Jeremy Kyle did a segment on the Channel 4 baking show, which included an interview with last year’s winner Sophie Faldo.
However, at the end, Jeremy handed over to Kate to announce what time it started, asking: “Do you know what time it’s on?”
“I don’t,” Kate declared. “What time is it on? 9 o’clock! 9 o’clock! Of course it’s 9 o’clock.”
However, dear reader, we must inform you that the show begins at 8pm, not 9pm. Unless you plan on just catching the last 15 minutes, or want to watch on +1/catch-up.
Still, Kate, Jeremy and co were digging into some cakes live on air, so we don’t blame them for getting a bit distracted.
As Bake Off returns, there have been fears that the show will be axing its trademark innuendos this series.
Yet Prue Leith has reassured us at Digital Spy that while the first episode is light on soggy bottoms, they are on the way, saying: “They do happen. Don’t worry, you’ll get some.”
Paul Hollywood joked: “So you really like innuendo? I think what it is, is… it’s funny. Innuendo has been part of Bake Off for a few years, but it’s not the be all and end all of Bake Off.
“Some of them, you can’t actually see. We should do an outtake thing after 11 o’clock. There’ll be a few in that one.”
The Great British Bake Off returns tonight (August 28) at 8pm on Channel 4.
