GORDON Ramsay's daughter Holly is celebrating one year sober following a secret battle with booze.

The daughter of TV chef Gordon, 21, shared her milestone achievement with her 280,000 Instagram followers today, admitting it hasn't been easy.

Holly previously opened up about being sexually assaulted twice at the age of 18, leading to a devastating battle with PTSD that saw her spend three months in a mental health hospital.

The podcast host bravely spoke out about her decision to go teetotal revealing alcohol and and antidepressants "do not mix well at all".

Holly said her decision to become sober was not easy but she wanted to "take control" of what she could.

She captioned her emotional post with a message to others struggling, writing: "For anyone who needs this. Continue to take it day by day, as will I."

In the lengthy Instagram post, Holly said: "Today marks one year without alcohol.

"This is not something I thought I would ever say at the age of 21. However, by 21 (nearly 22) I never thought I would've been through half of what I have.

"I choose to take a break from alcohol because it wasn't improving my mental health – which for me, comes first."

The daughter of the expletive-loving chef recently opened up about her mental health after she was admitted to the Nightingale Hospital in Marylebone, the capital's only private mental health hospital.

Her candid post continued: "This time last year I was at my lowest and I was scared but I made a decision to take control of what I could – and that meant removing alcohol from my life," the 21 & Over with Holly host confesses.

"It was not an easy decision, nor one that I have taken lightly. I won't say this is forever, but this is for now. Living without alcohol has helped me feel better and more present both mentally and physically.

"Don't get me wrong, I've had a year of high highs and low lows but I'm grateful I have myself the chance to work through them consciously rather mask my feelings (good and bad) with a drink."

Holly ended her inspirational statement, writing: "As with everything I have been through, it has been a learning experience and I feel lucky to be able to post this message today, to continue to spread awareness and break the stigma surrounding mental health."

Holly is one of five of Gordon and Tana's children, along with her twin Jack, sisters Megan, 23, and Tilly, 19, and youngest brother Oscar, two.

The fashion design student was met with a flurry of comments from family, friends and fans for her honest approach.
