Holly Willoughby chips her tooth during romantic date with husband Dan

Holly Willoughby revealed on This Morning that she chipped her tooth on a mussel during a romantic date night with her husband, Dan.

The 40 year old opened the show with her co-host Phillip Schofield in giggles as they asked each other how they were and let ITV viewers in on their inside joke.

Phil, 59, began: “She said just 30 seconds ago, in fact only 10 seconds ago, I chipped my tooth on a mussel yesterday.”

Before he cheekily quipped: “And I said what Dan’s?”

As they both giggled at his joke, Holly clarified that she had actually chipped her tooth on a bit of shell left on the seafood during a romantic date night in.

With a big grin, Holly explained: “It was, Dan cooked for me, it was very nice, there was a little, there was cod in a broth and there was mussels in it, which was quite brave as you know how I am with mussels, and as I fished it out there was a tiny bit of shell, luckily I think it’s the back of my tooth.”

“I just thought for a minute he’d been working out,” Phil added as a final cheeky comment.

After a little laugh, Holly moved on swiftly by saying “no, no” and continuing on with the programme.

Holly hand Phil are back on the show after the duo both took their usual half-term break off last week from the 14-17 February.

Meanwhile, the regular Friday presenters Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary filled in to front the popular morning show while the main co-hosts were absent.

This comes after Phil was forced to miss the programme after he tested positive for Covid-19 and Holly took a two week break to film an upcoming BBC One series, Wim Hof’s Superstar Survival.

ITV morning views have missed the regular co-hosts and are glad to see them back on screen together.

The best friends and co-hosts also present ITV’s Dancing on Ice and this series, the duo have tried out a first on the show and taken part in the skating rehearsals.

In a hilarious video share to his Instagram, Phil and Holly were seen laughing as they prepared to skate out to present the show.

Captioning the video, Phil wrote: “Rehearsing a first for us” and “I’ve edited out your bad language @hollywilloughby”, followed by “Finally on the ice” as the pair made their way on their podiums to the centre of the rink.

As Holly seemed to struggle to get on the rink, Phil added: “You seem to be holding on very tightly @hollywilloughby”, followed by a laughing face emoji.
