Holly Willoughby reveals real reason she isn’t wearing wedding ring

Over the past couple of weeks, eagle-eyed This Morning viewers have spotted Holly Willoughby has been missing her wedding ring. Yesterday, during a chat about coronavirus and explaining the pandemic to children, the presenter opened up on why it has been missing.

She explained that due to the advice to wash hands more frequently, she has been taking off her rings.

But as she is washing her hands so much, it has made sense for her to leave them off altogether.

As colleague Dr Ranj Singh explained it was important for the public to wash their hands and then moisturise, Holly agreed.

She noted she too had been left with “cracked” and “dry” hands due to washing so much.

Holly remarked: “I’m permanently taking my rings off.

“I keep forgetting to put them back on because I’m always washing my hands, so I’ve just given up now!”

It’s not the only difference Holly has had to make given the latest advice and guidelines from the government.

She was sat far apart from co-host Phillip Schofield on the This Morning sofa yesterday much to her dismay.

Phillip explained: “You might notice something a bit different as we are sitting far apart as per government guidelines.”

Holly told viewers and Phillip she simply wanted to be able to give the presenter a hug in times of uncertainty.

“Do you know what, I am really looking forward to that moment just to be able to give you a big hug because it’s the one thing I think we really need right now,” she said.

“But we are here and trying to keep you company and lift spirits for people at home.”
