Hollyoaks star Aedan Duckworth explains shock new Scott twist in Ollie's storyline

Hollyoaks star Aedan Duckworth has explained why his character Ollie Morgan may let Scott Drinkwell wrongly get the blame for his abuse ordeal.

A dramatic new storyline twist kicks off in E4’s first look episode tonight (August 31), as Luke Morgan finds the inappropriate pictures that Buster Smith took of his teenage son.

Unfortunately, there’s still a chance that Buster could get away with his crimes, as Scott (Ross Adams) wrongly comes under fire for the pictures and gets arrested.

Speaking about the upcoming drama, Aedan revealed: “Many things start to unravel for Ollie when his dad finds the pictures he has been trying to hide so badly.

“This spirals everything out of control, as Scott gets the blame and not the true abuser, Buster. It seems that there is no way Ollie could say how it truly is, but hopefully he can speak up and break the silence.

“Ollie doesn’t want anyone to get the blame, he just wants to throw the scent away from Buster, because if people knew it was actually him, it would make everything real.

“He’s obviously devastated and feels unbelievably guilty towards Scott. He has taken out some of his troubles on him, and for this he can only say sorry.”

Asked whether Ollie might confide in Brody Hudson, who was previously abused by Buster, Aedan replied: “Ollie can’t trust anyone. Looking at it from the outside he definitely should, but after telling his dad the truth, only for him to forget, Ollie is struggling to confide in anyone.

“There were many things I did to prepare for this storyline. I’ve worked closely with the charity, Survivors Manchester, speaking with survivors in order to give a true representation of what it may have been like for someone in Ollie’s situation.

“I’ve also carried out my own specific research, and myself and Nathan Sussex (Buster) have analysed scripts together finding important moments to highlight.”

Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
