JEREMY Clarkson has revealed the 'biggest disaster' on his farm – as hit Amazon show Clarkson's Farm lands a second series.
The Amazon Prime Video series followed Jeremy on his Diddly Squat farm in the Cotswolds and the trials and tribulations that came with it.
From unruly sheep to terrible British weather and not forgetting the coronavirus pandemic, Jeremy was certainly dropped in the deep end during his first year of farming.
However in an article for The Times, Jeremy, 61, revealed that something else entirely had become his "biggest disaster".
He said: "Over the past 18 months, I have peppered the farm with many new and exciting money-spinning projects, and then watched in horror as almost all of them ended in expensive failure.
"Wasabi? This was by far my biggest disaster. I noted the fact that only one chap in all of Britain was growing it and saw this as an opportunity rather than a warning that it might be impossible.
"It isn’t, if you really pay attention, round the clock, but I couldn’t do that because I had potatoes to sell and fish to save and wheat and barley and rape to grow, and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? to host and The Grand Tour to write, and when I did get five minutes to go and check on the “green gold”, I remembered that I had to write a newspaper column."
He continued: "As a result most of the wasabi was eaten by my pheasants, which then ran around squawking a lot.
"Have you ever seen a pheasant sweat? I have. A few plants survived and I tried to sell them to restaurants in London, but this plan failed, and when I put them in my shop most of the customers took one look and bought a sausage instead."
It's this kind of drama that has lead to Clarkson's Farm being renewed for a second series.
A source said: “Jeremy is Amazon’s golden boy and a new series is already in the pipeline.
"It’s rated five stars on Amazon and has a 9.3 rating on IMDB, which is practically unheard of.
“It means Jeremy’s fellow farmers Kaleb, ‘Cheerful’ Charlie and Gerald will all be in front of cameras on the farm again.”
