Who Wants to Be a Millionaire will return to ITV next month with all-new episodes and Jeremy Clarkson at the helm once more. After picking up presenting duties on the quiz show back in 2018, the Grand Tour host had failed to witness a winning run on the show until now as one brainy player has finally answered all 15 questions correctly to pocket the gargantuan sum.

While the player’s identity is being kept under wraps ahead of the new series, Jeremy has teased what fans can expect from the performance.

The Who Wants to Be a Millionaire host said: “It felt like we whizzed through the questions.

“All of a sudden, confetti was falling from the ceiling and I was saying, ‘You’ve just won £1million.’

“I wasn’t sure I’d ever get to utter those immortal words. It was a little emotional – but, boy, did it feel good.”

The WWTBAM jackpot winner isn’t the first person to land the vast amount of money, with the previous champion coming 14 years ago.

However, Jeremy certainly feels like this latest winner is the best player to do so on the ITV show.

“I can’t wait for viewers to see it,” Jeremy said.

“I was just in awe of this contestant — they’re probably the best the show has ever had.”

Fans will be able to find out once and for all which player ends up with the confetti-filled celebrations when the series returns next month.
