However, the soap actor – who played character Curly Watts for 20 years – admitted on Lorraine earlier today that he hadn't been approached by bosses.
This is despite both Rula Lenska (Claudia Colby) and Nigel Havers (Lewis Archer) recently reprising their roles, and with Ben Price (Nick Tilsley) and Charlie Lawson (Jim McDonald) also making a comeback this year.
Speaking to stand-in host Rochelle Humes, 29, about whether he missed it, the former Corrie star, 56, recalled: "I miss the people. I don't miss getting up too early."
The singer then said: "So Jim McDonald and Nick Tilsley have been confirmed that they're going to come back. Have you been asked?"
Kevin replied: "No." A shocked Rochelle apologised: "Oh gosh, have I made that a bit awkward?"
Reassuring her it was OK, the star added: "Never say never."
Rochelle asked what he would say if he'd been asked, and he said: "I'd love to. Curly was such a multi-faceted character."
Kevin last appeared on Corrie as Curly in 2003, and in May he tweeted: "As far as I know there are no plans for Curly to return to Coro in the near future."
He is now about to star in the Rock Of Ages musical.
It comes as it was revealed exclusively by The Sun's Bizarre column that Corrie bosses were bringing back two familiar faces to fill the void left by Shayne Ward and Catherine Tyldesley.
Nigel and Rula have returned to the cobbles in separate storylines involving the soap’s veteran character Audrey Roberts.
Last month Rula was seen on screen for the first time, while Nigel was first seen a fortnight ago.
The move will no doubt be popular with fans, who last saw Rula, 70, as mischievous hairdresser Claudia Colby in 2011 and Nigel playing dastardly Lewis Archer in 2013.
It is thought the comebacks will give the show a much-needed comedic boost.
An ITV source said: “Producers are delighted to have Nigel and Rula back.
“They were both hugely popular on the show, and it feels like an age since either of them were last on the cobbles.
“They are returning this summer but at separate points and in different storylines.
“Both stories will involve Sue Nicholls, who plays Audrey.
“Smooth-talking Lewis will have his eye on Audrey, while Claudia is a real thorn in her side, trying to poach her staff and stealing her customers.
“It will be lots of fun and much more like the Corrie comedy of old.”
