Kirstie Alley Refuses to Explain Scientology to 'Celebrity Big Brother' Co-Star

“Read a book,” she tells the man known as the Human Ken Doll.

It was only a matter of time until someone in the "Celebrity Big Brother" house in the U.K. asked Kirstie Alley about being a Scientologist.

During a chat with Human Ken Doll Rodrigo Alves, the former "Cheers" star was grilled about her beliefs, a topic she apparently didn’t want to go into detail about on camera.

"I heard that you are a Scientologist, is that right?" Rodrigo oh-so-casually asked her out of the blue. "Can you tell me, what is it exactly. We see so much about it on the press and there is so much controversy about it, I just don’t understand. I don’t know anyone who’s a Scientologist, what the religion consists of?"

"The best way for someone to find out what it is is to read a book about it, there’s many many Scientology books," Alley responded. "Or there’s a TV channel now called"

"What is the god then? We always have a god, a belief in something," he pressed on. "Is there a god in Scientology?"

"Not unless you want there to be," she replied. "That’s why you should read a book."

In case you’re wondering, here’s what the Scientology website says about this topic: "Unlike religions with Judeo-Christian origins, the Church of Scientology has no set dogma concerning God that it imposes on its members. As with all its tenets, Scientology does not ask individuals to accept anything on faith alone."

But as there were no books on hand in the "Big Brother House," Alves kept asking for more info.

"It would be like this, if I really wanted to know what a Christian was, what they really believed, I would read the Bible," Alley continued. "I was raised Christian, so I’d read the bible. If I really wanted to know what a Muslim was, I’d read the Quran."

"But can you tell me about it?" Rodrigo asked again. This time he got a stern "No" from his co-star. When asked why, she added, "I’ve explained why. If you want to know what it is, you can just find out what it is."

We doubt this is the last time Scientology will come up on the show — we’ll be watching!
