Line of Duty's DS Arnott has terrifying reunion with 'balaclava man' — but is he really the cop-turned-gangster they think he is?

LINE of Duty hero DS Steve Arnott has a terrifying reunion with the villain “balaclava man” who cops in the thriller are desperately hunting.

But in another sensational twist, the masked bad guy, John Corbett, played by Stephen Graham, insists he isn’t the cop-turned-gangster they think he is.

Last night the BBC1 drama saw him kidnap Steve, played by Martin Compston, at gunpoint before handcuffing him inside his car.

But he only does it so he can reveal his plan: to infiltrate the underworld and uncover the infamous “H” who is both a senior policeman and arch criminal.

It’s the second time Steve meets balaclava man – the last time, in series four, he attacked him and left him in a wheelchair.

The second episode of the new series ends with another tense scene where DI Kate Fleming appears to make her own breakthrough in the search for the bent copper sought by anti-corruption unit, AC-12.
