Loose Women’s Janet told to ‘shut up’ by viewers after making Prince William dig

Loose Women have come up against fresh criticism after Janet Street Porter poked fun of Prince William's tribute to the Lionesses – who made it to the World Cup Final 2023.

During the debate, the vocal TV star 76, took particular aim at King Charle's first-born son for what she described as a half-hearted effort to support the Lionesses.

Janet then went on to demand that the Lionesses should be given a "bank holiday" to mark their achievement of becoming World Cup runners-up.

However, this was met with much backlash from fans on Twitter who were not in agreement with her views.

One person fumed as she lunged in to defend the future King: "Ah shut up Janet – William wasn't there because because Australia haven't yet invited King Charles and protocol dictates William can't go before him – AND Australia's public would've had to foot his security bill #LooseWomen."

Another barked: "A bank holiday for a team that didn't win just to show 'women empowerment'? We have more than enough bank holidays. Also a big no to Colleen for the jet back hair. #LooseWomen."

While a third argued: "#JanetStreetPorter we should have a bank holiday for the #Lionesses’ this is wrong on every single level. They lost! They didn’t win! #LooseWomen."
