Love Island 2020: Who are the new couples? Who left Love Island tonight?

Tonight’s (Wednesday, January 29) episode of Love Island saw a dramatic recouple and dumping, with the boys making some difficult decisions. Sadly, one single girl had to pack her bags and leave South Africa behind. Express.co.uk has everything you need to know about tonight’s instalment of Love Island.

Who left Love Island tonight?

Tonight, the fourth Love Island dumping of 2020 took place.

So far, the reality series has said goodbye to Eve Gale, Connor Howard and Connagh Durman.

Contestant Ollie Williams left the series early after discovering he still had feelings for his ex-girlfriend.

Tonight, the boys were asked to choose the girl who they would like to recouple with and unfortunately, the Islander not picked would be dumped.

Sadly for Leanne Amaning, her time on Love Island was up.

Just days before the dramatic recoupling, Leanne decided to call things off with Mike Boateng, despite things seemingly heating up between them.

Leanne said how she had gotten the ‘ick’ and had tried to like Mike but just did not have the same level of feelings for him and he did for her.

Keeping a stiff upper lip, Mike turned his attention to newly-single Sophie Piper and chose to recouple with her, leaving Leanne vulnerable.

Who are the new Love Island couples?

  • Luke Trotman and Siannise Fudge
  • Callum Jones and Shaughna Phillips
  • Paige Turley and Finlay Tapp
  • Luke Mabbott and Jess Gale
  • Wallace Wilson and Rebecca Gormley
  • Nas Majeed and Demi Gormley
  • Mike Boateng and Sophie Piper

Before the recoupling took place, things got a little heated in the villa when Rebecca confronted Luke T about his feelings for Siânnise.

She said: “ I feel like I’m pushed out of the situation. It is clear in a way, I can see you and Siânnise swanning around, so I want to know what’s going on.”

Luke replied: “Over the past day or two, I’ve just probably thought that we have a better connection, me and Siânnise.”

Meanwhile, Siânnise told her fellow Islanders: “I feel like it’s a bit of karma, to be honest with you. I’m glad I stood my ground and I’m glad I vocalised how I felt and I’m glad that didn’t stop me from getting to know him. If I didn’t try, I’d have never known.”

After being dumped by Leanne earlier in the week, Mike began making moves on Sophie.

He told Callum and Nas: “I am going to crack on. My feelings for Leanne were real.

“When I feel like the time is right, potentially there could be people in here already that I might be looking at… I feel like me and Jess got on a lot. And I kind of blocked that off.

“Also, I never really gave Rebecca a chance. I’ve not been able to speak to her at all. And then there’s one more person… Sophie.

“It’s a sticky one. We all love Connor. But in terms of attraction, I can’t lie, she’s a beautiful girl.”

Later in the Beach Hut, he said: “I would like to get to know more about Sophie if the opportunity comes to kind of explore that a bit more then I’ll definitely be open to taking it.”

Meanwhile, Leanne confessed she had been missing Mike’s company but sadly, it was too late and Mike chose to couple up with Sophie.

Paige and Finlay were the lucky couple who got to spend their evening in the hideaway, thanks to their fellow Islanders.
