It’s no secret that getting ready for Love Island takes some serious legwork.

From topping up the tan to getting a last-minute wax, plenty of effort goes into the Love Island star’s appearances before entering the lavish ITV mansion.

And who can blame them for putting in a little of extra effort when Mr or Mrs Right could be waiting to meet them inside?

As things continue to heat up in the heart of South Africa, Daily Star has taken a deep dive inside the wildest transformations from this year’s contestants.

Let’s take a look…

Tom Clare

Viewers know Tom for his signature stubble and bulging biceps, but it's fair to say the the Yorkshire lad looked dramatically different before he waltzed into the villa.

Looking back through the footballers earlier posts on Instagram, the sportsman looks noticeably less muscular as he posed up a storm beside his sister.

And fans wouldn't be mistaken for doing a double take at the nostalgic snap as the Islander is seen without his staple beard.

The star sported a golden tan after enjoying a lavish holiday with his family in the heart of Thailand with much shorter locks.

Ron Hall

And he's not the only person who has drastically transformed before joining the ITV show in an attempt to find love.

During Ron Hall's time to in the South African villa, the Essex lad fell head over heels in love with blonde beauty Lana Jenkins.

Across the three-month show, he has become known for his cheeky attitude and signature buzzcut hair style.

But taking a look back through his Instagram account, the financial advisor previously sported a full head of hair.

The reality star used to comb his long voluminous locks up into a brilliant quiff which was sure to win the hearts of the ladies in town.

Lana Jenkins

And it's fair to say his girlfriend has had quite the glow up as well, after viewers took a dive through her older social media posts online.

In her teenage years, the blonde bombshell ditched her signature golden tresses for a dramatic new look as she hopped on the grey hair trend of 2015.

And the versatile shade worked perfectly when it came to festival season, as the talented makeup artist used the pale base to experiment with semi-permanent hair dye such as pastel pink and lavender.

It's fair to say the rock and roll looks incredible on the star as she posed up a storm with her close friend in celebration of her pal's 19th birthday.

But viewers can't get over how different the star looks in the glamorous ensemble, as she showed off her incredible figure in a black floral crop top and high waisted fitted trousers.

Zara Lackenby-Brown

Despite only making it through two weeks in the South African villa, brunette beauty Zara Lackenby-Brown certainly left her stamp on the villa.

Although she didn't find love on the ITV2 dating show, the loveable model quickly became known for her signature golden curls which cascaded down to her waist.

But it's fair to say the star had quite the glow up after old pictures resurfaced where fans were forced to do a double take.

In an old Instagram snap, the reality star ditched her honey blonde locks as she switched over to the dark side as she flipped her straightened raven locks over her shoulder.

The influencer opted to wear a lot more makeup before she entered the villa, regularly updating her loyal legion of fans with glammed-up snaps from her lavish nights out.

Aaron Waters

One epic Love Island transformation that may have flown under the radar was Australian hunk Aaron Waters.

Like Jessie Wynter, the sizzling beefcake had also previously appeared on Love Island Australia back in 2018.

But it's fair to say he looked completely different, rocking dramatic bleached blonde locks which were cropped short for a sleek look.

The reality star also opted to show off his cutting jawline with a sprinkle of facial hair as Islanders swooned over him in the Australian villa.

But unfortunately, the TV star struggled to find love in the winter series of Love Island UK.
