Marvel unveils action-packed first look at animated Black Panther series

Marvel has revealed a first look at the animated series Avengers: Black Panther’s Quest.

An action-packed trailer shares a glimpse of a new adventure for Black Panther, which stands separate from the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The DisneyXD show comes on the back of the massively successful Black Panther movie, which grossed $700 million at the domestic box office.

Avengers: Black Panther’s Quest will see the titular hero come up against familiar and new enemies as he balances the responsibility of being the king of Wakanda and a member of the Avengers.

And as displayed by the footage, fans can expect plenty of action and humour with some familiar faces making an appearance, such as Captain America, Iron Man and T’Challa’s tech-savvy sister Shuri (she ultimately steals the show by flying through a massive ship and making it explode).

This Black Panther animation is actually Disney’s fifth Avengers Assemble series, with previous seasons seeing Captain America and the Avengers fighting off the likes of the Red Skull, Thanos and Ultron.

Black Panther featured in the fourth season Secret Wars, which saw T’Challa form a new Avengers consisting of Ant-Man, The Wasp, Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel and Vision. Together, they work to bring the remaining Avengers back from an alternate dimension.

Black Panther’s Quest will take place after the events of Secret Wars.

Marvel’s Avengers: Black Panther’s Quest premieres on September 23 at 9pm ET on DisneyXD in the US.
