Mike Tindall got Nando’s while Zara was in labour as he admits ‘that did not go down well’

Mike Tindall has revealed he went to get a Nando's during his wife Zara Tindall's first labour, and it "didn't go down well".

The rugby player shared the hilarious admission during his stint on the Loose Men panel Friday (November 19).

The panel, which consisted of prsenter Vernon Kay, Love Island narrator Iain Sterling and former Strictly Come Dancing star Ore Oduba along with the Royal, were discussing whether dads "deserved" a "baby stag" ahead of their wife or partner's birth.

Recalling his now-seven year old daughter Mia's birth, Mike said: "So the first one, Zara had quite a long labour and I got hungry so I went to get a Nando's.

"That didn't go down well," the royal joked as Vernon agreed with a shake of his head.

"Imagine just saying, 'Oh by the way, I'm heading off, probably going to St Tropez just for the weekend," Mike went on.

"Just at their hormonal high – hormonal best, you know," he laughed.

The baby stag has started to gain momentum in recent years, along with other traditions such as "baby moon", and gone are the days of there being just a baby shower.

But the subject of dads taking some time off to chill out and relax is still a controversial one.

Iain, who shares a baby with fellow Love Island presenter Laura Whitmore, said while they could all agree they have it "easy" compared to the pregnant woman, there are "stresses as a man".

"It would be nice to be down the pub talking to your mates about what you're finding difficult about the pregnancy, even if it is categorically easy for a man.

"My wife discussed going on a baby moon, and I think doing it together, I think that's probably the much better way to kickstart this new chapter in your lives," presenter Ore also offered.

Mike and Zara got married in 2011 and share three children together.

As well as daughter Mia Grace, the couple have daughter Lena Elizabeth, three, and son Lucas, seven months.
