PIERS Morgan has labelled those who have refused to get the vaccine "ignorant morons" who are wrecking the UK's recovery.

The controversial journalist, 56, made his opinion on the coronavirus jab very clear in a recent tweet.

The Covid-19 vaccine rollout started back in December 2020 and since then, over 46 million Brits have received their first dose of the vaccine.

A further 36m people are now fully vaccinated in a bid to fight against the deadly bug.

The former GBB presenter – who is fully jabbed himself and has supported the programme from the very start – has slammed anti-vaxxers a number of times on social media throughout the ongoing pandemic.

And earlier today he had his latest dig at those not wanting to recieve the vaccine.

He told his 7.9m followers: "People have the right to not get vaccinated against covid.

"Just as I have the right to think they’re selfish, deluded ignorant morons who will keep this pandemic going much longer than it should. #GetJabbed."

His tweet certainly ruffled a few feathers, with many making their opinion known in the reply section.

One wrote: "You can still get covid and pass it on even if you have been vaccinated! If you are fit and healthy I don't see why I should be made to?"

Another tweeted: "No one should be forced to be vaccinated. People have lots of reasons why they can’t/won’t. They should not be judged by you or anyone else. It’s a personal choice. You are not helping unfortunately"

Meanwhile a third replied: "It’s up to them. Let them decide, but we need to open up either way. Enough is enough."

A fourth chimed in: "Vaccinated people are getting Covid too!" but another user explained that their risk of hospitalisation and symptoms are much lower because of the jab."

Despite a lot of negative replies, the vaccine has helped save many lives over the past year.

It was also recently found that the AstraZeneca Covid vaccine gives powerful protection that may last a lifetime.

As well as generating virus-busting antibodies, the vaccine also creates “training camps” in the body for search-and-destroy T-cells which can kill even new variants.

It's not the first time Piers has slammed Brits who don't want to get vaccinated.

Back in May he tweeted: "People who refuse to get jabbed but whine about lockdowns really are a special breed of stupid selfish p***ks."

And last month slammed “reckless and selfish” NHS and care home staff who refuse to get the jab.

In a passionate tweet, he ranted: “NHS and Care Home staff who refuse to be vaccinated need to leave their jobs and do something that requires less reckless selfish disregard for the health & wellbeing of their patients/residents.”

Piers' recent comments come after Prime Minister Boris Johnson's target of offering all adults in the UK a Covid-19 vaccine was met ahead of his July 19 deadline.

The PM has now vowed to "finish the job" by getting all over 18s to book their jabs.

The successful roll-out ensured his other target of two thirds of adults having both doses was also met.

Mr Johnson said on Sunday: “Barely 8 months since the first vaccine was given, reaching these targets is another extraordinary achievement.

“Thank you again to everyone coming forward, and to those helping others to get jabbed.

"You are the reason we are able to cautiously ease restrictions next week, and return closer towards normal life.

“Now let’s finish the job. If you’re over 18, book both your jabs today.”

July 19 2021 saw many people hit the nightclubs after being dubbed freedom day, but from September any party-goers will have to be double jabbed to enter.
