Power Book II: Ghost was the first of the Power spin-offs to come out on Starz following the end of the original drama. Tariq St Patrick (played by Michael Rainey Jr) has been the main focus. learning how to make his own way in the world at school, while selling drugs on the side. As always, his family life has been complicated and season two was no different.

WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Power Book II: Ghost.

At the end of Power Book II season one, Tariq’s mum Tasha St Patrick (Naturi Naughton) was taken into the Witness Protection programme.

She had told a court that it was Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora) behind James “Ghost” St Patrick’s (Omari Hardwick) murder and he wanted revenge.

While reluctant to get the authorities involved, Tariq knew the only way to protect his mum from Tommy was to ask for their help.

They managed to keep her safe but he was left none the wiser about where she was taken.

Tariq’s younger sister Yasmine (Paris Morgan) was at risk of being adopted so he needed to find his mum quickly to stop this from happening.

With help from Cooper Saxe (Shane Johnson) and Tameika Washington (Quincy Tyler Bernstine) they were able to track her down.

For the first time in season two, Tasha appeared in the series finale where she was reunited with Yasmine.

She had been living in West Virginia under the new name Vanessa Edwards.

After Tameika altered Yasmine’s name, the pair were relocated to Indiana.

Has Tasha St Patrick left for good?

In the series two finales, Tasha is shown reading a letter from Tariq which he gave Yasmine.

He said he would do everything in his “power” to get back to his family and she longingly looked at the empty chair at the dinner table.

So Tariq and Tasha didn’t see each other at all in the second series and there have been no announcements regarding her returning for season three.

However, there have been some teasers that suggest her story isn’t quite over yet.

Sharing some behind the scenes snaps on Instagram, Naughton wrote: “See! Y’all just had to be patient!

“Tasha is BAAACK! She got one of her babies back, One more to go!”

The fact she’s holding onto the idea of Tasha needing to get Tariq back as well does indicate that there is more of her character to come.

Creator Courtney Kemp also hasn’t ruled out a return for Naughton either.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Kemp explained: “I feel like [her story] isn’t finished.

“However, now you see а big piece of whаt Tаriq’s overаrching story will be going forwаrd, which is, he will reаlly be looking for his fаmily’s reunificаtion — how will he join them?

“When creаting а series, the most importаnt thing to consider is the chаrаcter’s desires. Tаriq, on the other hаnd, wishes to reunite with his fаmily. As а result, we’ll just hаve to wаit аnd see.”

Power Book II: Ghost is available to watch on Starz in America and Starzplay via Amazon Prime Video in the UK.
