Tommy Egan (played by Joseph Sikora) is best known as the long-serving best friend and business partner of New York drug kingpin James ‘Ghost’ St Patrick (Omari Hardwick). He’ll soon be returning to screens for his very own series on Starz, and one of the show’s new cast has chatted exclusively with Express.co.uk, and opened up about some potential crossovers with the original Power cast.

Power Book IV: Force will follow Tommy’s new life in Chicago after leaving New York, but the spin-off could eventually run into trouble with Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr) and the cast of Book II: Ghost.

Following the murder of Tariq’s father at his own hands, the story of Power soon continued with its first offshoot tracking the young drug dealer’s college years.

The franchise then turned the clocks back to the early days of Kanan Stark (Mekai Curtis) in the 1990s.

When Tommy sets up shop in Chicago, he quickly befriends bar owner Gloria (Gabrielle Ryan) and begins a tentative partnership with Diamond (Isaac Keys).

However, he still has some unfinished business in New York after Tariq and his mother Tasha (Naturi Naughton) tried to pin Ghost’s death on him.

As the world of Power continues to expand, it’s becoming more and more likely that fans will see some of their new and returning favourites start to collide.

Chatting recently with Express.co.uk, Gabrielle expressed her excitement for the possibility of seeing Gloria meet up with more of the show’s iconic characters.

A Power fan in her own right, the Force star said: “There’s so many characters that I love.”

“I always thought Holly was awesome. My personal favourite was Angie. I had a real thing for Angie.”

Sadly, both Holly and Angie were killed off during their time on the original Power series.

Originally Tommy’s girlfriend throughout the first three seasons, he strangled Holly (Lucy Walters) to death when he discovered she had hired assassins to go after Ghost and Tariq.

James’ lover Angela ‘Angie’ Valdes (Lela Loren) was similarly killed by Tommy when he turned against his friend, accidentally shooting her when he tried to take down Ghost.

Still, their fates haven’t stopped Gabrielle from fantasising about her new character from swapping stories with the old guard.

She continued: “But Holly was awesome, so I wonder how Gloria and Holly would get on, especially with the whole Tommy situation.”

Gloria will certainly have something to say when and if Tommy ever admits to killing his own girlfriend.

Plus, there are already plenty of new fan favourites in the Power world for Tommy’s new associates to butt heads with.

The prime example could be Ghost introducing R&B legend Mary J Blige as Tariq’s dangerous new employer Monet Tejada.

“Yes, yes, yes. God yes,” she exclaimed when asked about a potential meeting with Mary’s Monet.

“I mean just being around Mary would be awesome.”

Force will finally get started later next week, but it’s hoped Power’s new shows will continue for years to come and provide many opportunities for the new cast to get acquainted.

Power Book IV: Force premieres Sunday, February 6 on Starz in the USA and Starz Play in the UK.
